*You can also use disk utility (see below) to create a compressed back up of your files.

You have two options. Option 1 (Mac Recovery mode) is to install the macOS version that was last installed on your Mac before you trying this process. Performing Option 1 will not cause any data loss. Option 2 (Mac Internet recovery mode) is to install OS X version that was originally installed on your Mac when you bought it new. Use Option 2, if you are giving away your Mac. You can also erase your data before installing Mac OS by selecting Disk Utility (see below). Also note that Both methods require that your Mac is connected to the Internet. You can decide what you want. In this article, we are using Option 1.
Here is the steps for both of them:
*Restart your Mac or Turn on your Mac
*Immediately after your Mac starts:
*For Option 1: press and hold the Command (⌘)-R keys until you see the Apple logo.
*For Option 2: press and hold the Option-Command-R keys until you see the Apple logo.
*When you see the Apple logo, release the buttons:
*Now you will see the utilities window.
*Select Reinstall Mac (or Reinstall OS X) and click Continue and follow the instructions.
*Before this, my Mac had macOS Sierra installed. So this process will reinstall macOS Sierra.
*Now you need to connect your Mac to the Internet. You may do so via Wi-Fi:
*When you click, a new popup will appear saying: “To download and install mac OS, your computer’s eligibility will be verified with Apple” To verify, you need to have a Internet connection. Click Continue.
*After the verification step, you will be asked to agree to the terms. Click Agree to continue.
*Next, you will select your hard drive (this is usually Macintosh HD), then click Install.
*You can also delete your disk, if you want to (for example; you are giving away your Mac) before reinstalling Mac OS. If you are giving away your Mac, use Option 2 because new install will not be associated with your Apple ID. If you want to do this, select Disk Utility to erase your data.

But sometimes issues are so severe you may have to completely restore your Mac operating system.How To Reinstall Mac Os
While that may sound a little ominous, there’s no reason to panic. Restoring your Mac OS is pretty simple even for those who have limited computer troubleshooting knowledge.IMPORTANT:
Before you attempt any upgrades to your operating system or any software in general, backup all your files. Some OS restoring techniques will delete your hard drive. To learn more about backing up your Mac, go here .
What’s even better is there are four ways to restore your operating system, so there are always backup options in case one didn’t work. These options include restoring your OS from the Mac App Store, restoring it through macOS Recovery, restoring it via Internet Recovery Mode, and lastly, hooking up your machine to an external drive with a bootable version of your Mac OS.
Restore from Mac App Store
To restore from the Mac App Store:
1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
2. Open the App Store.
3. Click on the Purchased tab in the Mac App Store window.
4. Look for your operating system from the list of purchased apps.
5. Click Download (you won’t be charged for reinstalling apps).
6. Click Continue to confirm that you want to install software that is already on your computer.
7. After the OS has been downloaded, click Install.
8. Wait for the installation to finish.
Start up from macOS Recovery
If you encountered issues downloading the Mac OS from the App Store, you can restore your operating system through macOS Recovery. This will allow you to choose which versions of macOS you want to install on your Mac.*
When initializing macOS Recovery, the following key combinations will allow you to install different macOS versions:
● Command-R restores the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac without upgrading to a later version.
● Option-Command-R upgrades to the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac.
● Shift-Option-Command-R restores the macOS that came with your Mac or the version closest to it that is still available.
To initiate the restoration via the macOS Recovery
1. Start or restart your Mac.
2. Hold down any of the key combinations presented above.
3. Release the keys once you see the Apple logo or a spinning color wheel.
4. Wait for the macOS Utilities window to appear.
5. Continue to the next section and choose whether to erase your startup disk or begin reinstalling macOS.
Erase Startup Disk or Reinstall OS?
Erasing your startup disk prior to restoring your Mac OS is up to you, however, you might want to do this if:
1. Your computer is having an issue that Disk Utility can’t repair.
2. The macOS installer says that it can’t install on your computer or volume.
3. Your startup disk can’t be used to start your computer (this is likely to happen if you try to install an older macOS on top of a newer macOS).REMEMBER, ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE BACKED UP YOUR HARD DRIVE FIRST!
If you need to erase your startup disk,
1. Select Disk Utility from the utilities window of macOS Recovery.
2. Click Continue.
3. Select your startup disk in the sidebar of Disk Utility.
4. Make sure you select the disk name and not the volume name under it.
5. Click the Erase button or tab.
6. If you don’t see an erase button or tab, select the volume name under the disk name, then look again.
7. Complete these fields:
Name: Enter a name for your disk, such as “Macintosh HD”.
Format: Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Scheme (if available): Choose GUID Partition Map.
8. Click Erase to begin erasing your disk.
9. Once you’re done, quit Disk Utility to return to the utilities window.
10. You’re now ready to restore your macOS.
Restore your macOS
If you’re done erasing your startup disk or you think it’s not necessary, you may proceed with restoring your macOS.**
1. Choose Reinstall macOS (or Reinstall OS X) from the utilities window.
2. Click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.
3. Select a startup disk.
4. Click Install.
5. Provide your Apple ID to verify eligibility to install macOS if asked.
6. Wait for the installation to finish.
7. After the installation is finished, your Mac will restart.
Notes:
* If you’re selling or giving away a Mac running on OS X El Capitan or earlier, use Option-Command-R to make sure that your Apple ID will not be associated with the installation.
**If you erased your disk before restoring your OS, or you’re creating a new startup disk, your Mac will direct you to a setup assistant after restarting. If you’re keeping your Mac, you can just use your own information to finish the setup. If you’re selling or giving it away, press Command-Q to quit the setup assistant and finish the process.
Restoring Via Internet Recovery Mode
Sometimes, restoring your Mac OS via Recovery may not be possible – a damaged recovery partition being one of the possible reasons why. This is when Internet Recovery comes in handy.
Available on newer versions of Mac, the Internet Recovery mode is the internet-based counterpart of Recovery mode and works by downloading recovery tools from Apple’s servers into your Mac. Internet Recovery Mode, however, only allows you to restore the OS that came preinstalled on your Mac when you purchased it as opposed to Recovery Mode which allows you to restore the latest version of your OS.
If both of your Mac’s startup volume and its recovery partition are damaged or no longer work, the computer will automatically enter Internet Recovery Mode.
To start Internet Recovery Mode,
1. Go to the Apple menu.
2. Click Restart or power on your Mac.
3. Hold down the Command – Option – R keys immediately after your Mac starts.
4. Release the keys when the globe appears on the screen.
5. Wait for the Wi-fi menu to appear.
6. When the Wi-Fi menu appears, choose a Wi-fi network to connect to.
7. Once you’re connected to the internet, your Mac will download a recovery system image from Apple’s servers and use it to start the recovery process (note that this can take anywhere between a few minutes to a couple of hours).
8. Wait for the Utilities window to appear.
9. Click Reinstall OS.
Please note that you can only restore your Mac OS on a Wi-fi or Ethernet connection using WPA/WPA2 authentication protocols. If you’re connected to a network using either WEP, WPA-Enterprise, PPPoE protocols or any proxies, you will need to change the network settings to the required configuration first before the recovery process can continue and make sure that it stays that way until the installation is complete.
If for one, reason or another, the Internet Recovery Mode didn’t work as well, you can also restore your Mac OS by using an external drive with a bootable copy of your Mac OS.
Restore Your Mac OS via External Drive (see subject below for instructions on installing macOS on an external drive)
If you install the Mac operating system on an external hard drive, thumb drive, or other storage device, you can use it to restore your OS instead of going through the other three options. Just make sure that your storage device has been properly formatted, preferably as Mac OS Extended, and not FAT, ExFAT, or NTFS.
You also need to confirm that it is using a GUID partition map to make sure that it can be used as a replacement for your startup disk.
To confirm:
1. Connect your external storage device to your Mac.
2. Choose Apple menu.
3. Click About This Mac.
4. Click the System Report button.
Alternatively, you can also:
1. Hold down the Option key.
2. Choose Apple menu.
3. Click System Information.
4. Select Storage from the sidebar.
5. Select storage device from the list of volumes.
Please make sure that the Partition Map Type shown for your storage device is GPT (GUID Partition Table).
Install macOS on Your Storage Device
Follow the same steps when restoring your macOS, but select your external storage device instead when the installer asks you to choose a destination disk.
After installing the operating system on a properly formatted storage device, choose one of these methods to use that device as the startup disk for your Mac.
Use Startup Disk preferences
If you use Startup Disk preferences to select a startup disk, your Mac will always use this disk to start until you choose a different one.
1. Choose Apple menu.
2. System Preferences.
3. Click Startup Disk.
4. Select your startup disk.
5. Restart your Mac.
Use Startup Manager
If you use Startup Manager to select a startup disk, your Mac will start from this disk once, then return to using the default disk.
1. Hold down the Option key after starting your Mac.
2. Release the Option key when you see the Startup Manager window.

Problem Selecting Startup Disk
If you’re using third-party external devices, your Mac may have some trouble detecting it. Because of security concerns, some of these devices use Option ROM firmware that Mac computers with updated software don’t automatically load.
To fix this, just press Option-Shift-Command-Period at the Startup Manager window. Do this each time you want to start from the external device or from a startup disk connected to it.
If you don’t want to do this and you’re using an older Mac model (2015 and before), you can can disable this security feature and allow your Mac to load Option ROM firmware. However, beware that doing this may make your Mac vulnerable to unauthorized access.
To disable this feature,
1. Open the Terminal app in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
2. Type sudo nvram enable-legacy-orom-behavior=1, then press Return.

The HD died on the Aspire 5750 laptop, so I put a new one in, and installed Windows7 64bit. I’ve managed to get the drivers in for everything except the trackpad. There seems to be no trackpad listed in the Device Manager, and nothing listed with a question mark.

Первое, что понадобится, обновить версию BIOS до 1.11. Это позволит в параметрах биоса выбирать активную видеокарту. После обновления выбираем интегрированную (intel HD3000). Вторую (GeForce GT 540M) заставить работать пока что не удалось, но все гугление к тому и сводится, что никому пока что не удается. Ну, да, ладно, и так чудесно железка работать будет.
Далее, идем сюда и качаем установочный образ. Востанавливаем скаченный образ на 8 гигабайтную флешку.
Дальше после востановления берем по ссылке Chameleon 2.0 RC5 r927.pkg и ставим на эту флешку. в корень флешки кидаем папку Extra, взять можно здесь. В Extra также кидаетм DSDT.aml
Качаем Aspire 5750G Extensions 1.1.zip и заливаем на флешку в Extra и в /System/Libraty/Extensions соответствующие кексты. Только не с заменой, а сначала удаляем одноименные, затем на их место копируем новые. К стати, дольше всего возился со звуком, из Aspire 5750G Extensions 1.1.zip кекст AppleHDA корректно работать отказался. Но нашлась альтернатива :)). Т.е. AppleHDA.kext берем именно этот.
Флеха готова, запускаем бук, грузимся с флехи. Стартанул установщик с параметрами -v -x -F GraphicsEnabler=No
Acer Aspire 5750g Bios UpdateУстановка - процесс стандартый. После установки необходимо на раздел, на который производилась установка скопировать все те же кексты и папку Extra, которые закидывали на флеху, а также установить на этот раздел загрузчик Chameleon 2.0 RC5 r927.pkg, так же, как на флеху.
Для этих целей я снимал винт с бука, цеплял его к рабочей Mac OS и выполнял необходимые действия.
Все, теперь можно ставить винт обратно в бук и загружаться уже с него, для начала с параметром -v. После загрузки и первоначальной настройки необходимо установить и запустить KextUtility (ищется в гугде оч, легко) и добавить в файлик /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist строки для использования кеша ядра при загрузке:
UseKernelCache

Теперь, все ок.

Не завелся USB 3.0(не работает один конкретный порт), скрол на тычпаде и внешняя видюха.
В остальном бук ведет себя стабильно.
Один раз, очень внезапно отказался загружаться, вывалился kernel panic со ссылкой на CPUPowerManagement...Acer Aspire 5750g Ram
Не знаю наверняка, откуда это взялось, несколько минут чесал репу, вспоминал, что ничего системного не обновлял. Откуда же взялась паника. В конце концов решил сбросить биос в дефолт. Когда открыл биос, увидел один интересный пункт, по-моему, D2B Recovery (или что-то очень похожее). Описалова в самом биосе не нашел, но решил отключить. Не знаю наверняка, это ли помогло, но в дефолт биос сбрасывать не стало, бук загружаться стал стабильно и на батарее и от внешнего питания.
Больше тестить нет возможности, пришла пора его возвращать владельцу, время покажет. Пока что все.

THE UNIBEAST procedure.Acer 5750g Driver
My experience with the Acer Aspire 5750G (bios 1.13) and Lion Installation (up to 10.7.2) using Unibeast. Of course you may as well follow any of the methods posted earlier here to have a first Lion installation on your laptop. But this one worked for me, so it’s time to share it. Requisites (what you’ll need):
- Running Lion installation.
- Purchased Lion Install App.
- 8Gb USB flash.
- USB keyboard.
- Internet *wired* connection.
Installation:
1.- Using your current Lion setup and the USB dongle , make an Unibeast install (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/ ... using.html). Leave the USB plugged. Name the USB Volume ’DONGLE’, for instance.
2.- Copy and unzip the Acer5750g kext pack (latest version 1.3 http://www.osx86.net/view/2004-aspire_5 ... k_1.3.html) to a temporary folder (named it TEMP) on the root of the usb dongle. You’ll have a folder structure like /TEMP/Extra and /TEMP/S:L:E . Safely extract the usb drive.
3.- Plug the dongle in your ACER. Fire it up, press F2 to enter the bios and make sure you’re using the integrated video card (Intel). Otherwise the installation will also proceed but you’ll have to wait until the nvidia checking times out. You may also check the bios to see if the option to select the boot source is selected. After that, boot using your usb drive.
4.- Choose your language, accept the License , enter the Disk Utility and format your partition any size you like , OSPlus Journaled. In my case I made two partitions: One for the OS (named it ’OSXVOL’) , the other for Time Machine in order to have a quick rollback during this process.
5.- Install Lion. When it finishes, leave the USB dongle plugged and reboot.
6.- Press F12 , select boot from USB. Again boot from the DONGLE partition again, as if a new install. Select the language, accept the license.
7.- Run the Terminal app, copy the contents of the kext pack to the Lion Volume. But first create the /Extra folder.
# mkdir /Volumes/OSXVOL/Extra
# cp -R /Volumes/DONGLE/TEMP/Extra/* /Volumes/OSXVOL/Extra
# cp -R /Volumes/DONGLE/TEMP/S:L:E/* /Volumes/OSXVOL/System/Library/Extensions
8.- Also delete the AppleHDA kext. Sometimes the boot process panics with the voodoo sound kext. And then, reboot. Leave the dongle connected.
# rm -rf /Volumes/OSXVOL/System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA*
# reboot
9.- Again, press F12, select the USB boot device and this time boot your Lion Volume (OSXVOL) using ’cpus=2 maxmem=4096’. Now plug your USB keyboard as well. The boot process might hang. Please take note of the offending kexts if any. Otherwise try again a couple of times.
NOTE: You might be presented with the ’Before we begin’ screen. There are cases I’ve seen where the system claims it cannot find a keyboard, some other cases (like mine) the mouse was nowhere to be found. Workaround here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofive ... 66565.html . However this didnt work for me either. Only after I booted with the ’cpus=2 maxmem=4096’ switches , the keyboard was detected. No need to say that I tested several models before xD.
10.- Now complete the rest of the Lion setup process, create your username blahblablah.
11.- You’ll notice you have support for audio , USB and the internal NIC (ethernet network). So plug your cable and hook it up to your router because we’ll need an Internet connection to download Multibeast, the 10.7.2 upgrade combo and whatever other thing you need. After that, I performed a time machine backup.
12.- Backup made, fire Multibeast, accept, accept and wait when you get to the ’what to install’ screen. Now launch the 10.7.2 combo upgrade. Install it and DO NOT reboot. Go back to the Multibeast screen, select USB support (3.0 and rollback) , Chimera, Kext util. Finish it and do not reboot.
13.- Open a terminal window and delete the AppleHDA* kext , for it will be restored by the combo upgrade process.
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA*
*Update* As per NaToo guidelines, I forgot to include here one more step.
14.- Reinstall the kexts from the 1.3 kext pack.
15.- Run the Kext Utility to fix perms or do it manually. Now reboot and boot from your local HD. This time your Lion is up to date. Congrats Hope this worked for you.
NOTES:
- Many thanks to the author of this thread. I would not have been able to proceed without his guidelines.
- After the upgrade you can select the use of the Nvidia card in the bios. The bootup process recognizes it though I havent been able to activate it inside Lion.
- Given you made a backup with time machine feel free to experiment with kext and customization installs. Most probably you’ll ruin it all (as I did) but you need only to boot with your USB dongle and perform a time machine restore.
- Lots of corrections might be applied to this guide. Please, feel free to let me know.
What’s missing so far.
- WiFi support. I havent been able to find the proper kext. Any hints?
- Bright control and trackpad. I’ve seen some guides in this same thread, havent had the time the check them out yet.
